TRIBUTE TO MR V SRINIVASAN Former Trustee, SSSCT and Former All India President, SSSSO A few months back, the 8th of May 2017 to be precise, a member of Team Radio Sai was in the city of Chennai in his personal capacity to attend a solemn ceremony. It was the funeral of Mrs. Vidya Srinivasan, the wife of Mr. V. Srinivasan (who was referred to fondly as AIP, ‘All India President’ of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – even after he quit that role as he had served Swami in that capacity for a number of years). She was past 75 and her husband was nearly an octogenarian. But that did not stop him from warmly expressing his gratitude to all who had come for the funeral. He shook hands with Prakash and personally ensured that he was comfortable. “My sincerest condolences, deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers sir…” With a contemplative smile, AIP responded, “It is all His will. After four decades of getting the opportunity to work for Him, I have realised that it is not an exaggeration when they say that not a blade of grass moves without Divine Will.” Later, after the ceremony, Mr. Srinivasan spoke his heart out with our team member. “I have so much to do…” “You have done a lot for Swami sir…” “No! People are very kind because of Bhagawan’s love and grace. But that doesn’t mean I can be lenient on myself…” Picking up the Sutra Vahini book that was on the table beside where he was seated, Mr. Srinivasan continued, “Lifetimes are not enough to understand Swami’s love and teachings. I am reading all the while now. See, I have even underlined important points for me to understand and put into practice. Swami has done so much for me. I hope I can do something at least for Him. But then, that too is His decision and will.” Prakash was moved by his humility. The 70s and 80s are years when one is way past one’s prime. But it was in such an advanced age that the man who sat beside him had taken the lead in organising a unique, first-of-its-kind and highly successful Sai Symphony orchestra during the 90th Birthday celebrations of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Prasanthi Nilayam. #sathyasai #saibhakta

Balvikas children must lead a Dharmic path – Sathya Sai Speaks There are many students in our colleges with varied experiences who were wandering in many ways outside and were addicted to many bad things. Such students after joining in our college are becoming best students and the kind of ideal life which they are leading cannot be identified by others except Sai himself. Young children like 9 year olds or 10 year olds, are smoking cigarettes and beedis, and going to places where they can drink alcohol. Parents are not properly training their children who indulge in all these bad habits and instead think that their children are doing something really great and go on boasting that their son is able to smoke 10 cigarettes a day which is an insult to them. There are parents who will pat on the back of the boy, and say you have done a great job by playing cards for the whole night and earned ten rupees. How their future will become consecrated if the students instead of studying indulge in all bad vices and bad habits. If the plant in its tender age were to become crooked and get a curved shape, then the whole tree too will be crooked. The Balvikas teachers must take responsibility to bring such educated parents closer to them by attracting them with sweet and soft words and explaining them the right situations. Therefore, it is imperative to provide training to these teachers for at least 3 months. While there are many other things which our balvikas teachers have to acquire, experience and learn, yet one after another it is necessary to put them on a right path. Questions to and Answers by Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba ********* Q: Swami, why was I born? Sai: For what purpose were you born? Man has been sent into the world … to realise the truth that he is not man, but God. The wave dances with the wind, basks in the sun, frisks in the rain, imagining it is playing on the breast of the sea; it does not know that it is the sea itself. Until it realises the truth, it will be tossed up and down; when it knows it, it can lie calm and collected, at peace with itself. Q: How am I God, Swami? I am a human being with a human body Sai: You are in this body, in this receptacle, … to realize the God you really are. This body is the cocoon that you have spun round yourself, by means of your impulses and desires. Use it to grow wings so that you can escape from it! Q: Do I have to reach God? Sai: All creatures have to reach God. It is the destiny of man to journey from human-ness to divinity, as he has already journeyed from animal-ness. Some may ascend a plane, others may travel by car or board a bus, some may prefer a train journey, others may like to trudge along — but all must reach the goal, some day or other. Q: But, Swami, where will I find Him? Sai: The Divine Principle is the very core of man. … It is the source of strength which is unfailing and irresistible. … The Divine is here before you, behind you, inside you, outside you; the Intelligence through which you can recognise. Q: I’m sure I could find God if I lived here at Prashanti Nilayam, with You. Sai: The community in which you find yourself is the arena where you can win the victory, the gymnasium where you develop the skill to win. Q: But why must I stay in such an unhappy world, where I too am unhappy? Sai: You learn by the experience of the buffetings of the World. The World is a very essential part of the curriculum of man. The … world is like a hotel to which we have come to experience the consequences of our actions in the past. The body is a room in the hotel in which we have to undergo the Karmic consequences. #sathyasai #saibhakta

You should think, ‘I am Rama’…” Who is a man? Is man indicated by his limbs? The proper study of mankind is man. What is mankind? The unity of thought, words and action is mankind. It demonstrates humanness. You think one thing, speak something else, and do something else. This is not humanness, it is demonic nature. Man must have unity of thought, word and deed. For wicked people, thought, word and deed are in disharmony. We have to talk what we think, and do what we say. First and foremost, students must have good behaviour. If behaviour is good, then you will see good everywhere. Wherever you go, your goodness will follow you. You have to develop such qualities. Don’t look for quantity. What is the use of quantity? We must look for the quality and not the quantity. Develop good quality. Give joy to your parents. Set an ideal in the society. Through words and senses, we can attain a very high state. Study well. When you are studying, study well; while playing, play well. Concentrate on the work which you are doing at that time. You should not keep talking while studying. If we are talking while studying, then we are not only ruining ourselves but we are also ruining others. Through empty words nobody can get happiness. By bad talk we are not only ruining ourselves but we are also ruining the other person also. We should not ruin ourselves and others in this manner. When you study, you must sit in solitude and concentrate. While playing, concentrate on playing. When you shout and laugh while playing the game, you cannot enjoy the game and benefit from it. Thus, while playing also concentration is required. Concentration should be there in all activities. If you want to go out of this building, you can’t go out of this window! You have to concentrate and find the main door and walk out through that. Concentration should become your way of life. With good concentration, get good marks, good name and good character. #sathyasai #saibhakta
